Getting to the Resort
Sometimes folks forget that they need to get from the airport to the resort. This is a quick guide to help you get there.
The best option is to book a private shuttle, round trip, in advance.
It's not the worst thing in the world if you don't pre-book ground transportation. If you book on arrival, you will find the prices are about the same across the competitors. The only difference is that you will have to wait for a shuttle to be available.
No Ride Shares
There are no ride share services like Uber or Lyft in Cozumel. You've got the shuttles, and taxis, and that's it.
How do the taxis work?
In Cozumel, taxis are not allowed to go to or from the airport property. They are forced to stay just outside the airport in town. You can walk your bags off property and hail a taxi, but it's probably not worth the effort. C'mon, you're on vacation.
Are private cars an option?
Yep, they are out there. If your group is 3 or fewer, you can get a private sedan for about $45 USD.
Which shuttle service should I book?
First, coordinate with the rest of your friends who are probably arriving at the same time as you. You can book shared shuttles for good discounts.
We have used a service called Flex Eco Shuttle in the past without issue, but their reviews are very mixed. Their website can be hard to navigate, and you have to pay attention to ensure they show up for your return trip. We might try them again, but not sure yet.
Print your confirmation and have it ready to show the driver. This will come in clutch when they have trouble finding your reservation.
